Three-layer insulated fabric
Three layers of insulation in 300D Oxford that keep the heat in and the cold out, far below zero.

Yes. 90 degrees in 10–25 minutes, true löyly when you pour water on the stones, and heat that holds at minus 30. We understand the scepticism, so here is the proof.
See the proofA sauna tent is a portable sauna made of insulated tent fabric, heated by a wood-fired stove with sauna stones. It is set up in a few minutes in the garden, by the lake or in the mountains, reaches 90 °C in 10–25 minutes and gives true löyly when you pour water on the stones.
As hot as a regular sauna? Will the sauna tent handle a Nordic winter? Is it worth the money? Those are exactly the right questions before buying anything with the word tent in its name. This page answers them, with numbers, technology and real customers.
Figures from real sauna sessions in our tents. Heating time and temperature depend on weather, firewood and how you stoke the fire.
Yes. The stove takes the sauna to 90 degrees in 10–15 minutes in Gnistan and 20–25 minutes in Flamman, with a maximum around 110. That is hotter than many built saunas ever reach, and it heats up considerably faster.
Yes, that is the whole point. The stove's built-in stone chamber gives true löyly: the same soft wave of steam as in a wood-fired sauna cabin.
The fabric has three insulating layers and customers have used it at minus 30. If anything, the contrast with the cold makes the session better.
300D Oxford fabric with PFAS-free flame-retardant treatment, an SS304 stainless steel stove and YKK zippers. If something wears out there are spare parts, and you have a 2-year warranty.
The construction is a tent. The experience is a sauna: wood-fired heat, steam, the scent of burning wood and panorama windows facing nature.

No magic, just the same physics as in a built sauna: a tight, insulated volume and a powerful wood-fired stove. Plus something no basement sauna has: panorama windows facing nature. Hott Sauna is Swedish design, built for the Nordic climate.

SS304 stainless steel. The stones sit close to the hottest part of the stove and give real löyly.
Sauna with a view of the lake, the snow or the sunset. The windows make nature part of the session.
Three ways to get a real sauna at home. This is how they differ in practice.

Many simpler sauna tents are built on the same standard frame: 210D fabric on the outside with no flame-retardant or water-repellent treatment, small windows, basic zippers that give out over time, and a stove without a protective casing that radiates heat straight at your legs. At first glance you save money, but if the tent only lasts a couple of seasons it often ends up costing more in the long run than choosing quality from the start.
Hott Sauna's fabric has three layers, with 300D Oxford on the outside and insulation in the middle. It is flame-retardant, water-repellent and free from PFAS, and the zippers are YKK. The constructions are our own and design-protected, developed from the ground up around how the sauna session feels: the heat, the light, the view and the materials. Backpack carry bags are available for both tent and stove, so the sauna can come along to the lake, the cabin or the mountains.
Three things: the steel, the stones and the shielding. The HOTT stove is SS304 stainless steel, has a built-in stone magazine and a protective casing all around that stops radiant heat. Cheaper stoves often lack both the casing and proper room for stones.
The stones sit right against the hot firebox instead of in a basket on top. They heat up faster, hold the heat longer and give denser, softer löyly. A basket on top is only heated from below and takes considerably longer.
A dark interior hides soot and dirt, is easier to keep clean and creates that cosy feeling when the fire is the only light source. It also reduces reflections in the panorama windows, so you keep the view after dark.
Gnistan reaches 90 degrees in 10–15 minutes and Flamman in 20–25 minutes. The time depends on weather, firewood and how you stoke the stove.
Gnistan fits 2–5 people and Flamman 4–8 people.
A sauna tent that is set up temporarily and taken down again is normally not considered a building. Rules for fireplaces and shoreline protection vary between countries and municipalities, so check locally if you are unsure.
