Sauna tent – A hot and affordable alternative to a traditional sauna
HOTT Sauna: Swedish-designed sauna tents for all seasons
Experience warmth, comfort, and closeness to nature with a portable Sauna tent from HOTT Sauna. Our sauna tents are developed in Sweden through years of design, testing, and refinement, rooted in the Nordic sauna tradition. The models are called Gnistan, a compact sauna tent for 2–5 people, and Flamman, a more spacious tent sauna for 4–8 people. Whether you are looking for a sauna tent with a stove for winter sauna sessions or a convenient portable sauna for summer adventures, there is a model for you.
Built to be taken with you, not just kept at home
A sauna tent from HOTT works just as well at home in the garden as it does by the lake or in the mountains. But we want the sauna to be easy to take with you, which is why we have focused on something others often overlook: the carrying systems. Proper carrying bags with sturdy handles and backpack straps are included for both the tent and the stove, and everything is designed to be packed, carried, and set up quickly, even when you are alone. No one wants to carry a 20+ kilo steel stove in their hands—trust us, we have tested it 🥵
Three-layer fabric that keeps the heat in, even in winter
The tents are made from durable three-layer Oxford fabric, with a highly insulating middle layer that retains heat even in severe cold. The material is water-repellent, wind-resistant, and flame-retardant-treated without PFAS chemicals. You can enjoy a sauna in the middle of a snowstorm and still maintain full sauna heat, from wonderful summer days to crackling winter evenings. Reinforced seams at the corner attachments and durable zippers mean the tent can withstand being set up and packed away hundreds of times.
Wood-fired sauna with one of the market’s most thoughtfully designed stoves
The stove is the heart of every sauna tent, and three things determine how good it is: the steel, the stones, and the protection. Gnistan is heated by MINI Beast and Flamman by The Beast, two wood-fired stoves made of stainless SS304 steel with a protective casing around them that blocks the direct radiant heat that often burns your legs in simpler models, while also making the stove more durable during transport. Cheaper stoves often lack both a casing and proper space for stones.
The built-in stone compartment places the stones tightly against the hot firebox instead of in a basket on top: they heat up faster, retain heat longer, and produce denser, softer löyly. A basket on top is heated only from below and takes considerably longer. Together with built-in spark protection and extra airflow at the top of the firebox, the sauna reaches 90 degrees in approximately 20 minutes, with a maximum temperature of around 110.
Spacious sauna tent for 2–8 people
Our sauna tents are quick to assemble and accommodate between 2 and 8 people, depending on the model. Perfect for both social moments and peaceful recovery. Well-placed panoramic windows provide views in several directions, while the included cover flaps offer extra insulation on cold winter days or privacy when you need it.
Sauna tents designed from the ground up in Sweden
Behind HOTT Sauna is a small Swedish team with extensive experience in mobile saunas. We have tested most tent saunas on the market and seen what works and what does not. While many choose standardized off-the-shelf products with their own logo, we design our tents from the ground up: everything from the materials and amount of insulation to the reinforcements and components, such as YKK zippers and high-quality fabrics. The result is design-protected products that you will find only in a sauna tent from HOTT Sauna.
The numbers speak for themselves: our sauna tents have been customer-tested down to minus 30 degrees and have an average rating of 4.97 out of 5 based on more than 75 verified reviews and thousands of satisfied customers. All packages include free home delivery within the EU, a 60-day open purchase policy, and a 2-year warranty.
A sauna tent from HOTT is for you if you want something reliable that you use often and love bringing out. It is not just about heat, but about presence, recovery, nature, togetherness, and time for yourself. A truly great portable sauna does not have to cost a fortune: the sauna you look forward to, wherever and whenever you want 🔥
You will find our complete sauna packages with tent, stove, and accessories on the product pages for Gnistan and Flamman. If you want to expand your sauna later, you will find everything from sauna buckets to all-weather covers among our sauna tent accessories, while our spare parts help keep your tent and stove going for many years.

Frequently asked questions
Here you will find answers to what our customers most often wonder about. If you do not find what you are looking for, you are always welcome to contact us!
What is a sauna tent?
A sauna tent is a portable, foldable sauna heated with a wood-fired stove. It provides the same high temperatures as a traditional sauna but can be taken wherever you want – to the mountains, the lake, or your own garden. Unlike fixed sauna buildings, a sauna tent does not require a building permit and can be packed up in just a few minutes.
How warm does it get inside a sauna tent?
Our sauna tents reach 75–80 °C in 15–20 minutes and can easily exceed 100 °C. The temperature is simply controlled by adjusting the airflow to the stove and opening or closing the vents in the tent. The three-layer Oxford fabric with insulating middle layer retains heat effectively, even in severe cold – so the experience is comparable to a traditional wood-fired sauna.
Do sauna tents work in winter?
Yes, our sauna tents are built for the Nordic winter climate and have been tested in temperatures down to -30 °C. The three-layered fabric insulates effectively, and the stove The Beast is sized to deliver strong heat even in severe cold. Many of our customers use the sauna tent mostly in winter – the combination of cold air and hot sauna provides a truly wonderful experience.
Can you use a sauna tent in rain and wind?
Yes. The fabric is water-repellent and the structure is sturdy with ground pegs and braces. In strong winds, we recommend using all the included anchors and choosing a sheltered spot. The chimney has a spark guard with a rain cover that prevents water from getting in. The sauna tent is designed to be used year-round in Nordic weather – including rain, snow, and wind.
Which model should I choose – Gnistan or Flamman?
Gnistan is our compact model that accommodates 2–5 people. Perfect if you want a lightweight sauna to take on adventures or if you have limited space.
Flamman fits 4–8 people and has 7 panoramic windows that create a completely different sense of space. It is still portable – a bit larger than Gnistan, but easy to take in the car if you fold down a seat. Perfect for those who prioritize room over packing size – whether at home in the garden, at the cabin, or on holiday.
What is included in a complete sauna kit?
All our packages include a sauna tent, wood-burning stove, chimney pipes, and carry bags for both the tent and stove. The packages are available for both models, Gnistan (2–5 people) and Flamman (4–8 people), in three levels:
BASE gives you the essentials to get started. PRO adds sauna stones, a sauna bucket with ladle, a thermometer, and more practical accessories. MAX is the complete experience, with everything above plus all-weather protection, a water tank, and more accessories.
All packages include free shipping within Sweden and the EU.
How much does a sauna tent cost?
The price depends on which model and package you choose. Our complete sauna kits start from around 17,000 SEK and include everything you need to get started: sauna tent, wood-fired stove, chimney, and carrying bags.
The larger packages include more accessories – such as sauna bucket and ladle, thermometer, or water tank – which affects the price. Compared to a fixed sauna solution, which often costs 50,000–150,000 SEK, a sauna tent is a much more affordable option without compromising the experience.
What sets Hott Sauna apart from cheaper sauna tents?
Hott Sauna are sauna tents designed for those who want to bring the sauna experience wherever they go. With large windows, sturdy carrying bags, and a durable construction, they withstand Nordic weather, harsh environments, and repeated use. Every detail is chosen for function – from quick heating to easy transport.
These are sauna tents for those who want the freedom to sauna by the lake, on the mountain, deep in the forest, or just at home in their own backyard. The choice is yours.
How long does it take to set up a sauna tent?
Flamman has a pop-up design and unfolds in about 5 minutes – completely without tools. Gnistan has a pole structure that takes around 10 minutes to assemble. Both models accommodate one person, but go faster with two. Packing up takes about the same time. The first time may take a little longer, but after a few times it becomes second nature.
Can you use a sauna tent alone?
Absolutely! Both our models work excellently for solo saunas. The stove is just as effective no matter how many people are sitting in the tent. Many of our customers use the sauna tent as a moment for themselves - pure relaxation and personal time.
Do you need a building permit for a sauna tent?
No, sauna tents are classified as temporary structures and require no building permit. You do not need to notify the municipality or obtain any permissions. This applies whether you set it up in your garden, at the cabin, or out in nature. Please note that the right of public access applies when using a sauna in nature – choose a suitable spot, be careful with fire, and leave the place as you found it.
Are sauna tents fireproof?
There is always a fire risk when handling fire, but our sauna tents are designed to minimize it. The fabric is flame-retardant treated completely without PFAS chemicals. The stove The Beast has a Spark Trap system that catches sparks before they reach the chimney. The protective cover around the stove prevents you from coming into direct contact with glowing hot metal.
Keep a safe distance from the stove and chimney, use the stove under supervision, and follow the included safety instructions – so you can enjoy the warmth safely and securely.
Läs mer i vår användningsguide.
How do I take care of my sauna tent?
Make sure the tent dries thoroughly after use before packing it away. Brush off dirt and any ash, and store it completely dry and cool. The tent can be left standing for long periods, but this wears the material more – especially in sun, strong wind, and rain. Taking it down between uses greatly extends its lifespan. With proper care, your sauna tent will last for many years.
How long does a sauna tent last?
